The Minister of Security of the province of Buenos Aires, Javier Alonso, reported the discovery of a person's body in a room where two other unidentified people were also found. Out of respect for the victim's privacy, the information provided is being limited, although family members have already been informed and are receiving support from psychology specialists.
An autopsy of the discovered body will be conducted on Thursday, and subsequently, the remains will be handed over to the family. Regarding the rescue process, Alonso explained that a tunnel had initially been constructed to access the body, but it was determined that there was a risk of collapse, and the strategy had to be changed.
The minister indicated that they still maintain hope of finding survivors in the area, as they believe there are chances of finding more people alive in the coming days. It was confirmed that it is believed there are still more people trapped, so it is necessary to secure the area before continuing with the rescue efforts.
Alonso also mentioned that an investigation is being conducted to determine the responsibilities of those involved in the construction where the collapse occurred. Finally, the minister confirmed that the family identified the discovered body as that of the former owner of the Dubrovnik hotel in Villa Gesell, named Rosa, through a tattoo on her arm.
